Ever since I started this “Golden Oldie”business I have wanted to re-introduce you to a very funny movie, City Slickers. However, heretofore Amazon Prime has repeatedly informed me me that it was “unavailable”. Now, however, they have made it available for sale, although not for rent. As the purchase price was only $4.99, I bit. I watched it last night. I wasn’t as joyfully appreciative as I had expected to be, but maybe that follows from the fact that I have seen it so often I know the dialog by heart! But it is good. Jack Palance sparkles in a role he was born for, and Bruno Kirby makes you mourn his ever so premature passing. For some reason Billy Crystal grates on my nerves, but that’s just me – he is okay. The scenery is fine and the cows are cute. What’s not to like?
